Setting up for Thanksgiving.....

Hooray!....I am finally ready to get going on my blog! So much has been happening lately that I haven't even had time to sit and gather my thoughts. It is Sunday afternoon, the husband and kids are out and about so I will take this prime opportunity to write.

So lets get started! It so happens that my first entry will be about my favorite time of the year, Fall. It is a time of celebrating with family and friends and to reflect on how much we have to be thankful for. With Thanksgiving just around the corner I am so glad to share with you my Fall decor and tablescape. I hope you enjoy the pictures and get some ideas for your holiday planning.

Welcome to my house!

My bountiful table is exploding with color! I love to use the vibrant colors, I wanted to bring the outdoor inside.

For each place setting I used two placemats and a charger to add definition and height. I love layering!

I was so excited when I found these wonderful pumpkin soup bowls! They add that extra pop of orange color and can be used throughout the Fall season.

Adding special touches like a feather in the napkin ring and leaves on the plate makes each place setting more interesting.

I have been collecting pumpkins over the years and have quite a collection built up. I usually pick them up when they are marked down at a low price.

Here is the back view of my tablescape. I wanted you to see that using different sizes and textures of pumpkins is a great way of adding movement to an arrangement. And plus if you're like me and can't decide on which one to buy while your at the store, just take it and try it out. You can always return it if doesn't work out.

Last but not least, here is my buffet vignette.

Like my pheasant? He is absolutely wonderful because of his colors and most of all he reminds me of Thanksgiving.

In case someone might be wondering what the lump of wood is in the corner. It is a birch wood ball that I found at an antique market. If you ever find something uncommon like this you should get it. It was a rare find and plus for $6 who could resist?

One last pumpkin picture, I promise! I had to show off my large soup tureen that I had purchased several years ago and believe me it is wonderful. I use it for both decorating and serving.
